History

The history of this field in the country goes back to 1971, when on behalf of the World Health Organization, occupational therapy specialists were sent to Iran for occupational therapy training and presented their informal training for 2 years at Shafa Yahyaian Hospital in Tehran, which in 1352 and with the establishment of the school Excellent rehabilitation was provided. Under the supervision of Iran's Rehabilitation Faculty, this program was formalized.

Currently, this field accepts students at the undergraduate level in 12 universities, and since 1371 in the master's level in 3 universities and since 1387 in the specialized doctorate level in 2 universities.

Occupational therapy department of Mashhad University of Medical Sciences started its activity in 2018 in Mashhad Paramedical and Rehabilitation Sciences Faculty
